A man has been arrested after a fatal stabbing inside a Melbourne home and police are still searching for a second person.
A 36-year-old man was found seriously injured inside a home on Victoria Drive in Thomastown about 8.40pm on Thursday.
Police performed CPR but the man died at the scene.
9News understands the house is a halfway home, with several transient residents often coming in and out of the property.
A 45-year-old man was arrested and remains in custody.
Investigators are also searching for a second person in relation to the alleged stabbing.
Victoria Police said the alleged stabbing "appears to be a targeted attack" in the early stages of the investigation.
Homicide detectives are on the scene.
Forensic investigators were today seen removing multiple bags of evidence, and confiscating a silver hatchback car.
