A Gold Coast girl, Wendy Kingston began her media career at ABC Radio in 2000, working in Brisbane before being transferred to the Rockhampton newsroom where she was a general news reporter and reader

She made the switch to television a year later, accepting a reporting and back-up news reading position with WIN Television in Toowoomba on Queensland's Darling Downs.

After six months, she became the full-time presenter of the 6pm bulletins for both Toowoomba and the Sunshine Coast while continuing to report.

Wendy resigned at the beginning of 2005, crossed her fingers, packed everything she owned into her car and moved to Sydney - without a job. It was a move that paid off, Wendy worked in the Sydney newsroom at Channel Nine for 11 years, reading the 11am and 4.30pm News, before hosting Nine News Now and filing reports for Nine’s various bulletins along with being a regular presenter for Weekend TODAY.

Wendy then returned to her hometown of the Gold Coast with her young family. Nine Gold Coast News welcomed Wendy to their close knit team, with Wendy joining Bruce Paige reading the 5.30pm bulletin to the Gold Coast audience, Monday to Friday.

She now presents the Nine News Queensland afternoon news from Brisbane.
