There is no more versatile and enduring personality on Australian television than Livinia Nixon.

Nixon is best known for bringing Melbourne viewers their weather report each week night on Nine News at 6.00pm, a role she has held since 2004.

In 2011, she also took on the role of presenting the weather in the national bulletin of Nine News each weekday afternoon, before switching to the new Melbourne afternoon bulletin in 2017.

In 2016, Nixon rejoined Nine’s long-running Postcards program after first appearing on the show in its early days. Alongside the ensemble cast, she explores the best travel and lifestyle destinations in Victoria. Nixon is also a regular contributor to Nine’s iconic travel program Getaway and has reported from Samoa, Germany, France, Switzerland, Japan and Hungary.

Last year Nixon celebrated 20 years with the Nine Network.

During that time she has cemented her position as one of Australia’s most popular talents, having worked on a long list of programs including Hey Hey It’s Saturday, Temptation, Today, Weekend Today, Mornings with Kerri-Anne, Things to Try Before You Die, The National IQ Test, Plucka’s Place and Mornings.

Her quick wit, intelligence and spontaneity were a perfect combination when she co-hosted the radio drive show on Melbourne’s Mix 101.1 (now Kiis FM) for two years with Ed Phillips. Nixon also co-hosted breakfast alongside Dave Hughes on Nova in Melbourne for a three-month period.

Nixon has completed a Bachelor of Commerce and Arts Degree (majoring in Marketing and Chinese) as well as a Diploma of Applied Science (Horticulture).

In her role as ambassador for World Vision, she travelled to parts of Thailand after the devastating tsunami in December 2004. She is also an ambassador for the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.

In 2017, Nixon authored two books – the educational Discover the Weather and the fictional Henry’s Pirate Adventure.

A keen Richmond supporter, Nixon lives in suburban Melbourne and is married to Alistair Jack. They have two sons, Henry, 8, and Ted, 4.
