Woman charged over alleged hit and run on the Gold Coast

A woman has been charged with drink driving after an alleged hit and run on the Gold Coast.
Police allege a black Nissan Juke and a white Kia Rio collided head-on on the Gold Coast Highway near Tedder Avenue in the Surfers Paradise about 10pm yesterday.
The driver of the Nissan then allegedly got out of the car and ran away from the scene.

The driver of the Kia was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said they later found and arrested a 37-year-old woman from Eagleby.
She has been charged with one count each of dangerous operation of a vehicle, driving under the influence of liquor, failing to remain at the incident and render assistance, and driving without a driver's licence.
The woman was issued a notice to appear in court on July 19.
