A Current Affair Reporter

Dan Nolan has been a journalist since 1999 and joined the Nine Network in 2012 after spending almost 6 years as a foreign correspondent for Al Jazeera English.

He has covered wars in Afghanistan, Gaza and Georgia and has reported from 23 countries. He tweeted his own arrest during the Egyptian revolution in 2013 as one of the few reporters on the ground still able to access Twitter. In 2008, he came under live fire whilst reporting from Hebron in the West Bank.

His first big international assignment was in 2004, travelling to Copenhagen to cover the royal wedding of Danish Crown Prince Frederik and Australian commoner Mary Donaldson. He also covered the London terrorist bombings in 2005.

Since joining A Current Affair in 2013, Dan has reported on stories that shocked the country like Sydney’s Lindt Café siege and the Dreamworld theme park tragedy in 2016.

He won a Kennedy Award in 2016 for Scoop of the Year and was named a finalist in 2019 for the Mike Willesee Award for Outstanding Nightly Current Affairs for his exclusive story on One Nation’s Steve Dickson's antics in a US strip club. That exposé caused shockwaves during the 2019 election campaign and ended Mr Dickson’s political career.

Dan has also been involved in some famous confrontations on A Current Affair including this one involving a cricket bat.

Dan grew up in Toowoomba, Queensland where he started out in television working for Win News. Dan is married with two children.
