A group of offenders is on the run following five smash-and-grab burglaries at petrol stations on Victoria's Mornington Peninsula overnight.
Police were called to each location after receiving reports a group of up to four males had smashed their way into service stations between 12.10am and 1.05am.
Officers believe the offenders used a hammer to smash the front windows of the stores before stealing cigarettes and prepaid mobile phones.
The five locations targeted include petrol stations in Tyabb, Moorooduc, Red Hill and Tootgarook.
Police said the offenders, who have been described as teenagers, were wearing dark clothing and were last seen leaving the incidents in a grey Mazda sedan.
