Perth woman allegedly struck by car rushed to hospital

A Perth woman has been rushed to hospital after being struck by a car allegedly driven by a man known to her.
Police were called to Amherst Street in Freemantle around 4pm (6pm AEST) after reports that a woman had been hit by a car.
It is understood the man and the woman, both in their mid-20s, had been involved in an altercation inside the car.

The woman is understood to have gotten out of the car before she was allegedly hit by the vehicle and dragged for some distance.
She was able to get up and flee the scene before collapsing from her injuries.
A red car continued down the street, before mounting a curb and crashing.
The woman was taken to Royal Perth Hospital in a serious condition with abdominal injuries.
A man in his mid-20s has been placed under arrest.
He has not been charged with any offences over the incident.
Police have urged any witnesses to the incident to come forward.
