A family's desperate search for a father missing in Victoria's rugged high country has ended in tragedy with a body was found this afternoon.
Steven Clough, 58, was an experienced dirt bike rider who is believed to have died in a motorbike accident.
A member of the public made the discovery at about 1.40pm.
Steven's wife Tammy and his 18-year-old daughter Sonia said told 9News earlier today they held out hope he would be found alive.
There had been a huge search effort, covering 40 kilometres worth of trails, after Clough went missing on Friday.
He had texted his wife and outlined the exact route he planned to take that afternoon through the high country region.
Tammy said he was good at communication and when he didn't respond to her, she raised the alarm.
