However, 9News.com.au has obtained new details of the iPhone 16 five months ahead of its launch.
Every year one of the core industries that benefits from a new iPhone are the case and accessory manufacturers.
They make cases to match and protect the new phones, but the challenge is if the iPhone is announced just one week out from release - how can they build a case to match it so quickly?
All that is solved thanks to leaks from within the manufacturing community in China, where detailed and precise models of the next iPhone are made, used by these companies to check their new designs ahead of the September release.

9News has obtained early leaks from these designs in the form of what are known as Dummy Phones, but this year, a month earlier than normal, the dummy phones are machined metal samples with working buttons that show something very new.
Each of the four iPhone 16 models, if these leaks are to be believed, will feature a new button on the right-hand side of the phone.
It's expected this button will be programmed to launch the Camera app, and when in the camera app to trigger the camera shutter to capture a photo or commence/end a recording.
Positioned so that a single-handed selfie can be snapped with ease, or in a traditional point-and-shoot mode so that the shutter is in the same place as a normal camera, this button is recessed into the phone so the top of it is flush with the outer frame, while all other buttons protrude from the frame.
In addition to this change, we've noted that the iPhone 16 Pro Max is larger than the previous generation, leading to a larger screen and potentially new features, while on the entry-level iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, the cameras are re-aligned into a vertical orientation, perhaps to better allow for spacial (3D) video shooting of content for the Apple Vision Pro.
It's far too soon to say if these are legitimate leaks, however our experience with these factories is eight years of spot-on samples, so we've no reason to believe otherwise.
iPhone 16 won't be announced for five months, in Early September, while Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference takes place in Early June, that will be our first insight into what software changes are coming to the iPhone 16 and previous generations later this year.
